Fresco painting is a typically Italian art, proof of this lies in the numerous works depicted all over the country. The colours, made using natural pigments, are pulverised, and applied with water to a ready mixture of sand and slaked lime, which absorbs the colour, making it thus both indelible and permanently fixed.
